Shelly Holt is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who graduated with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Shelly has a range of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Currently she provides a wide range of mental health services including diagnostic assessments and individual and family therapy in both school and clinic settings. She is a school-linked mental health therapist at Rosa Parks Elementary School in Mankato serving students grades K-5. Shelly also provides therapy to all ages at the Mankato Clinic with particular interest in women’s issues. She works at establishing a strong therapeutic alliance, emphasizes a holistic based approach rooted in a strength’s-based as well as a developmentally-appropriate and relationship-focused framework. Her work emphasis is in cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness. Other areas of interest include attachment and relationships, trauma, mood disorders and anxiety. Shelly is nationally certified in Managing and Adaptive Practices (MAP) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which is an evidenced-based model to treat children and adolescents who have experienced varying forms of trauma.
