Allison (Allae) Dreshfield graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. Allae has gained professional experience as an outpatient therapist working with adults with a variety of mental health concerns. Allae’s areas of interest include gender identity exploration and transitioning issues, LGBTQ issues (including providing psychoeducation for parents, partners, caregivers), sexuality and sexual orientation, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and self-esteem. Allae utilizes a person-centered and feminist/multicultural approach, combining dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment based therapies, schema therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy to help clients explore their core selves and work towards wellness. Allae believes that the therapeutic relationship is a crucial part of therapy and works from a place of compassion, transparency, and collaboration. Allae is currently receiving professional supervision as she works towards obtaining licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
